Welcome
to Good Trouble
"Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year, it is the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble." -John Lewis
We Are Good Trouble Member
Good Trouble is a statewide network of sustainability clubs in Colorado. We are asking school clubs across Colorado to join our growing network so that we can have a greater impact on our state’s media and legislation. We do not ask any clubs to forfeit their autonomy: we know that local high school students have a lot more knowledge of their communities than we do.
Good Trouble's Principles
While each club within our network may differ, we ask that all clubs hold to these principles:
1. We are entirely non-partisan. While it may often seem as though the climate crisis is a partisan issue, we believe that our activism must not reflect the world as it is, but the world as we wish it to be.
2. Our rhetoric will always reflect a doctrine of hope. We make hope possible, and that is how we can create a different world.
3. Each club must be, at its core, entirely student-run. We are the generation that will live in the tomorrow that is created today-- we deserve to make the decisions that will decide our future!
The Climate Literacy Bill
Good news! The Climate Literacy Bill has been passed thanks to the efforts of Good Trouble's online campaign and virtual testimony to the House. This bill will encourage students to pursue climate courses and make it possible for them to graduate high school with a climate endorsement. This is a great step towards a more sustainable future!
